Orla Casey regularly undertakes a range of evaluations and appraisals on behalf of statutory, community and voluntary sector organisations. We also provide economic appraisal and project assessment services to ICBAN, ADM/CPA EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation, Peace II led Task Force and DARD NI through their agent Fermanagh Leader Company (FLAG).

'I have been involved in the design and management of cross border cross community economic and social development projects since 1997 through my role as Assistant CEO with Leitrim County Enterprise Board. This experience gained as a project developer and delivery agent has been invaluable in my current role as external evaluator to a wide range of community projects under the INTERREG IIIA Programme. I established Momentum Consulting in February 2003, (see sample contract listing above).

My approach is very much focused on my role as a facilitator to enable organisations to the review their commitment to delivering an INTERREG IIIA project, assessing the intrinsic values and capabilities of their organisations and measuring the impact of their efforts on the target area. I take a structured approach in terms of capturing the information required but also a very personal intervention to truly capture the personality of the project, its motivations & challenges and its progress & future potential. I have a problem solving mind, so I enjoy assisting project promoters to identify and implement remedial action if required.

In terms of measuring the indicators of success, I am guided in the first instance by the milestones defined by project contract. It is also important to capture and record the unexpected outcomes of the project which can often have invaluable and very tangible effects.
