Rural Development Strategies for Counties Roscommon, Leitrim and Sligo 2007 -2013

In 2008, as part of our role in writing the Rural Development Strategies for Counties Roscommon, Leitrim and Sligo 2007 -2013, Momentum Consulting prepared detailed tourism sector status analyses of the tourism offering, performance and prospects of each county. In consultation with a wide range of industry stakeholders (statutory, community and private interests), a priority investment programme was designed in terms of capital infrastructure gaps and priorities, marketing opportunities and training requirements to advance the sector significantly over  the coming 5 years.

 

 

The Green Box

Assisted the Green Box in developing the business case for a tourism training network and securing funding for the newly established Responsible Tourism Skillnet

 

 

Lough Key Resort

In 2005/06 Orla Casey acted as Interim Development Manager of Lough Key Resort ( a Newfound Consortium project), assisting in devising the planning for this major €130 million infrastructure proposed investment to develop an eco-tourism resort at Lough Key, Boyle, Co. Roscommon.  While the project did not proceed, the learning gained and contacts established have been very valuable.

 

 

Failte Ireland funding programme

Completed a series of funding applications under the recent Failte Ireland funding programme call.

• Business plan development and funding applications on behalf of private promoters on Lough Allen, Co. Leitrim in the expansion of an Equestrian Centre and the establishment of a new marina and ancillary tourism businesses
• Advisor to a cluster of emerging and expanding tourism operators on Lough Derg

 

 

 

Monaghan Tourism and Leitrim Tourism marketing

Evaluator of Monaghan Tourism and Leitrim Tourism marketing bodies, I have also worked with both organisations in identifying funding opportunities.

 

 

Imeall Trá Teoranta

Advisor to Imeall Trá Teoranta, a strategic tourism partnership between Meitheal Forbartha na Gaeltachta (Tír Chonaill/Donegal), North Antrim Leader+ and Údarás na Gaeltachta  with an overall investment plan of €5million
